I am a freshman undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University. I am majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Spanish on the pre-med track! I have been a tutor for all 4 years of high school. I have helped students with mathematics, ranging from middle school to college level courses, as well as intermediate Spanish. I have also worked at Kumon for the past 3 years and have experiences in teaching English, grammar, and reading for all high-school level courses. While I am confident in my abilities to help students in science (biology and chemistry!), I am most passionate about helping students in mathematics, whether that is with the SAT, ACT, AP, and excel at reviewing college admission essays. I am a firm believer in creating an organized and adaptive tutoring program, allowing students to practice with questions that would challenge them in beneficial ways.

I'm a current student at Johns Hopkins University pursuing a bachelor's in both Neuroscience and Molecular & Cellular Biology. My favorite subjects to tutor are biology, chemistry, psychology, art history, and environmental science on both a high school and Advanced Placement level. Alongside those subjects, I am comfortable teaching middle school and lower level high school math and science, and I offer test preparation for both the SAT and ACT. Outside of academics, I like to train for memory sports, and my current goal is to set a Guinness World Record for memorizing the most decimal places of the irrational number phi. In my previous tutoring experience, I have not only helped teach the subject matter at hand, but I have also guided students on how to improve their study habits in general.

I am a junior at Columbia University double majoring in Financial Engineering and Computer Science. Since high school, I have extensively tutored French students for standardized testing (SAT/ACT). This helped me bridge the obvious language gap whilst breaking down the tests into their fundamentals to better grasp the strategy behind them. I firmly believe in learning-by-doing which is why I encourage all my students to try first before revising their methods and understanding of the subjects. I am fluent in French, Arabic, Hebrew, and English which I believe helps me communicate the very essence of the subject as opposed to a numbered list of tasks which might not help all types of students. In my spare time, I enjoy catching up on the Financial Times, trying my hand at new languages and designing clothing.

I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, with degrees in physics, astronomy, and studio art. During my time at university I was a member of the Physic Education Research group, conducting studies into the best methods of math and physics pedagogy. Although I am most accomplished in physical science education, my methods are applicable to all kinds of science. I have also studied history and literature extensively as a matter of personal passion. My goals as a tutor reach beyond simply grasping the material at the level which it is presented--I aim to give students the intellectual and emotional tools to grasp underlying principles of any field, and the confidence to believe that this is something they can achieve under their own power. Hello! I am a current junior attending Johns Hopkins University studying a major of Molecular Biology with a focus on Computational Medicine. I've been tutoring for over six yearsstarting with math and Chinese lessons in my communityand have worked as a teacher's assistant for three years at a local elementary school. I am a graduate from the University of Maryland: Baltimore County, and I received my degree in Geography and Environmental Science, which is fun stuff like geology and hurricane studies. I was a tutor for 2 years at my university, and I got lots of experience with figuring out individual learning styles and different ways to approach education. I've always been most excited about taking and teaching STEM classes. I love being able to teach science and math the most because they have a reputation for being really difficult, and I love breaking down concepts into bite-sized components that are easier to think about. My teaching style focuses heavily on content understanding, instead of just short-term application. I find students are able to excel much more when they're given time to be able to break down content and thoroughly explore how and why it works.

I graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.S. in Biology with Honors in Research and a B.A. in East Asian Studies, along with a minor in Clinical Psychology. I have three years of experience as a Biology II teaching assistant, where I led recitations, ran review sessions, and worked closely with students who needed extra support. I also spent three years as a writing tutor, helping students at all stages of the writing process. One of my favorite parts of tutoring is seeing that "aha" moment when things start to click and students become more confident in their abilities.
