Jessica graduated from University of North Texas at Dallas in 2018 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. She is also a certified TEFL (Teaching English as Foreign Language) instructor. Her favorite subjects are Reading, U.S history, Speech, and Biology. These subjects are enjoyable and engage interest. Also she is experienced in Career Planning & resume critiquing. She loves learning new things, enjoys reading, and helping others.

One of my greatest joys is to help a student who needs to conquer their academic struggles. I have had those rough days and know how much of a stress-reliever a tutor can be. Years of honors courses have prepared me to be the one to relieve that academic stress for you. During the 2016-17 school year, I tutored a middle school student in math. When I met her, she was failing. By the end of our time together, she improved to a B, and was way more confident in the subject matter. I also provided homework help for elementary students in math, science, and English for two years. In 2018, I worked as an Academic Specialist with Parker Academics, LLC as an elementary tutor in math and ELA New York common core, as well as a homework help provider. Later that year, I served as a private high school English tutor and a middle school math tutor. With both students, we worked on overall comprehension and retention so they could remember to apply what we had worked on together when they completed independent work.In addition, I have loved writing since I was in grade school and would love the opportunity to help you increase the quality of your writing. I have taken and received A's in two college-level writing courses, as well as receiving a 5 on my AP English Literature and Composition exam and a 4 on AP English Language and Composition. I was also on the program committee for NYU's College Writing Symposium through their Writing department. I am very passionate about learning languages and spent three years traveling to Romance language speaking countries in an effort to immerse myself in rich culture and history. I am a firm believer that learning new languages is vital to broadening one's mind and its ability to eschew fear of the different and alien. Education is the one certifiable remedy for the world's many ailments and I am delighted to do my part in spreading its reach to those who are willing to embrace it.

I am a third-year student at Bethel University, studying to receive my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education for grades 5-12. I have worked as a teacher's assistant for 5 semesters, and have been an individual tutor as well. Tutoring was an important component of the community service aspect of the diploma, and I was able to work with students in the areas of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Biology. In college, I was also involved in tutoring, working with students in a range of subjects from College Algebra to Calculus in math, and all sorts of science courses, including Genetics, Physics, and Molecular Cell Biology. I tutor a wide range of math and science classes, but my favorites are Algebra, Calculus, and Physics. When working with a student, I have found that showing the student that you are excited and interested in the subject, as well as connecting it to a real world situation or profession makes the atmosphere fun and relaxed. Under those circumstances, learning is easier and the knowledge is more effectively retained. I an formally trained as a chemist (BS MIT, PhD NU), and operate a consultancy focused on technical market research for science-based businesses. I conducted or led industrial chemistry research for 22 years. I have a passion for science and STEM education, and am choosing to 'give back' by tutoring, with a focus on STEM topics.
