I am passionate about helping students with Math and Science subjects, and I would love to help students on the Math section of the SAT as well as the SAT II Math subject tests. I enjoy tutoring in math because it is often a subject that students dislike, and through working with them I have been able to help many appreciate that math is needed every day, and is not as daunting as it seems.When I was in school, I didn’t know how to ask for help when I was having trouble understanding the information we were learning. I still managed to earn high grades every year, but there were several moments of self-doubt and fear of being perceived as incompetent for asking for help. As I began tutoring during my undergraduate studies, I realized that those negative thoughts were silly and there is no shame in seeking help when you don’t have the answers. When I work with students, I do my best to build their confidence in the subject area through practice and positive affirmations, and encourage them to ask any questions they may have. I never want my students to feel like they cannot or should not ask for help when they need it most.

I'm a recent graduate from York College of Pennsylvania. I have a Master's in Public Policy and Administration with a certificate in Urban Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Analysis with a minor in Geography. I also attended Central Texas College and earned an Associate of Arts in Social Science.While at York College, I worked as a GIS peer tutor, volunteered at an orphanage in India for two weeks - which included various teaching opportunities to elementary and middle school students, and spent one semester as a learning coach for two elementary-aged students in an online school.I have always been interested in the social sciences. History, Geography, and Political Science have been my favorite subjects since at least middle school. I am currently approved to tutor for College Geography, Geography, Human Geography, and Social Studies. I hope to add more subjects in the future!My goal is to help students succeed and gain confidence in the knowledge they have. Most of my Master's was completed online due to Covid, so I understand the stress and difficulties that come with online learning right now. I currently work as a 5th and 6th grade math teacher at a charter school in southern New Jersey. Before becoming a teacher, I was an aide at a high school for behavior disorders and learning disorders, I.e. cognitive mild classes and emotionally disturbed classes.

I am an elementary education graduate from Marquette University. I have been an elementary teacher for nine years. Over those nine years, I have taught reading, math, science and social studies. I have also learned to adapt lessons for students that have learning disabilities or may learn in a less conventional manner. My greatest goal as a teacher and tutor, is to foster a love of learning within my students and empower them to seek out and demand a fulfilling and well rounded education for themselves. I am a graduate of Califonria Lutheran University. I got my bachelor of science in mathematics. I seek to show students that mathematics isn't as droll and difficult as they make it out to be. Math can be fun and enjoyable once one understands what all the symbols represent and that the maths can be used to help in real life situations. However I understand that some people just can't find math fun and in that case I make sure to make the learning process as easy and smooth as possible. I teach my tutees by taking what topic they are learning and defining it in easy to understand terms for better learning. After that I tend to ask them a lot of questions to test their comprehension of the topic.I enjoy games and a good sense of humor. I always like a good joke whether it be math related or not. During my free time, I love to play board games and tabletop games with my friends. But when it comes down to it I just really love mathematics and teaching it to others.
