Thanks for considering me as your new tutor! I'm Dean and I studied Computer Science and Business at Tulane University and later earned a master's in Computer Science from the University of Houston while developing applications for Enron - you have to start somewhere. For the past few years, I've been tutoring college students and professionals in SQL, programming (mostly Python and C# with PostgreSQL), and teaching people how to use AI tools in practical ways. What I love most is making complicated stuff clickand making it stick.

Before tutoring, I worked as a Technical Manager and Software Architect at Oracle and other Fortune 50 companies. That experience gave me the skills to build big, complex systems, and now I use those same skills to make learning easier. I even create custom apps for my studentslittle tools that track progress, show where you're strong, and point out the areas that need more work. They keep things on track and make learning a lot less overwhelming.

On top of the tech side, I've also studied psychology extensively and was a practicing online therapist for a couple of years. That background helps me connect with students in different ways. Everyone learns differently, so I adapt lessons to fit the person in front of me. I've helped people improve their LSAT scores over 10% utilizing psychology alone, although I'm not on this site to do exactly thatbut it doesn't hurt doing better on tests when part of the issue is up there and not on the paper. Over the years, I've turned boring topics into something funlike building a Dungeons & Dragons character generator or even a doll collection databaseso that learning feels personal and engaging.

Outside of tutoring, I'm usually building AI projects almost always with a pretty robust database-backed, swimming laps, coaching Science Olympiad, or just being a dad. Those things keep me curious, creative, and grounded, which all show up in how I teach.
