As a passionate tutor with over two years of experience, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for my students. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Political Science at the University of Chicago, I excel in subjects including ACT prep, AP English Language and Composition, and writing. My previous experience includes teaching at a summer camp for immigrant and refugee kids and tutoring high schoolers in several subjects. As an ACT tutor, I helped my student improve 5 points in only 3 months. My teaching philosophy centers on understanding each student's unique needs, setting achievable goals, and revisiting concepts to ensure mastery. I find great fulfillment in helping students improve their writing skills and test-taking strategies, as I believe these are vital for their academic success.

Hobbies

I love music—I sing in (and help run) the University of Chicago glee club! I also just started learning guitar this summer. Another one of my passions is learning languages. I've learned French and German so far, and am starting to get pretty good at Spanish! I also love hiking and getting out in nature whenever I can.
