Hello! My name is Drew Migita, and I am a dedicated tutor specializing in History, Government, Politics, and Philosophy, currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics at the University of California, San Diego. Through many fascinating conversations and teaching experiences with students, friends, and professors, I have developed a student-centered tutoring approach that emphasizes building connections and fostering curiosity. I believe that effective learning occurs through thoughtful, guiding questions that encourage students to make connections that cause seemingly inert facts to spring to life, rather than simply absorbing information and repeating it by rote. My passion for these topics' stems from their deep interdependence; History can be considered to be the working-through of political and philosophical problems over time.

My experience leading discussions in a philosophy and history reading group has further honed my ability to engage older high school and college students, nurturing their critical thinking skills and deepening their understanding of complex topics. By no means am I limited to older students, however; I have a solid grasp of mathematics, high-school science, and language arts.
