Being a graduate from Mizzou obtaining Summa Cum Laude and with honors and my degree in Biological Science, I have strong drive for teaching students the world of all things biology. I am currently working towards obtaining my PhD in Medical Microbiology and Immunology with aspirations to be a professor and conduct my own research.
My passion for teaching and helping students stems from my experiences in high school and college. Having a support system or an outlet that empowers you to succeed is crucial to any academic journey. My high school and college experiences lacked this support, leading into my drive to provide any means of help for others to succeed.
During my undergraduate career I had several tutoring experiences as well as mentoring experiences. My favorite part of all these experiences was seeing the students grasping the topic and being able to utilize this understanding to attempt and solve more complex questions/topics.
My favorite topics to tutor are predominately within the field of biology and chemistry. I have a lot of experience with tutoring topics like genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and microbiology.
Overall I love working with students who may need help with these subjects. Not only is it because this is a field I am passionate about, but also they are very challenging topics. Being a part of overcoming challenges for others is what makes being a tutor/mentor so rewarding.
