As a Mathematical Physics major at Brown University, I bring a unique perspective to tutoring that bridges analytical thinking with creative problem-solving. My journey through advanced physics coursesfrom Quantum Mechanics to General Relativityhas equipped me with the knowledge to tackle complex STEM concepts. Having recently navigated these challenging subjects myself, I understand the common roadblocks students encounter when learning physics and mathematics. This perspective allows me to anticipate difficulties and present alternative approaches tailored to each student's learning style. I specialize in physics and mathematics for high school and college students, with particular expertise in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, calculus, and linear algebra. Before sessions, I review the problems students are struggling with to prepare targeted explanations that connect theoretical concepts to practical applications. This preparation ensures our time together is focused and productive. Working as a research assistant on a teaching initiative to rewrite an Electricity and Magnetism textbook with an active learning approach has deepened my appreciation for effective teaching methods in STEM. I've learned that students perform better on exams and retain information longer when they grasp the underlying connections between concepts rather than memorizing formulas. When not tutoring or studying, I enjoy taking photos, making art, playing basketball, hiking, and skiing.
