Evelyn: Palos Hills tutor
Certified Tutor
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Oklahoma State University and a Master's degree in Architectural Technologies from SCI-Arc. My educational journey has cultivated a deep appreciation for learning and problem-solving, which I strive to share with my students.
With experience mentoring colleagues and guiding students through complex concepts, I have developed a student-centered approach to tutoring. I specialize in subjects such as architecture, technology, math, design principles, project management, and Spanish. I enjoy helping students uncover patterns and solutions, empowering them to build confidence and master even the most challenging problems.
My teaching philosophy focuses on tailoring each session to the individual learning style of my students. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, engage deeply with the material, and develop critical thinking skills. By breaking down complex topics into manageable steps and using real-world applications, I make learning both accessible and exciting.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring architecture and design trends, traveling, and staying active. These interests inspire creativity and adaptability in my tutoring style, helping me connect with students and make lessons engaging. I believe education is a transformative tool, and I am passionate about helping students unlock their full potential.

I am passionate about creativity and hands-on activities, including crafting, building with wood, 3D design and printing, and creating models. To unwind, I enjoy going to the gym, reading books that inspire personal growth, and spending time in nature, whether at the beach or in the mountains. Traveling is another passion of mine, particularly exploring architecture, learning about different cultures, and discovering new cuisines. I am also deeply committed to community work and have participated in initiatives such as social work in Peru, Reading Partners, and Habitat for Humanity. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the transformative power of education and collaboration. Some of my favorite books include On Leadership from Harvard Review, Steve Jobs, Emotional Intelligence, and Outliers. I enjoy reading about business and empowerment, which continually motivates me to grow and help others achieve their potential.
