Certified Tutor
Hello! My name is Anna Grace Silvey, and I'm currently pursuing a B.A. in History with minors in Geography and Political Science at Jacksonville State University, where I expect to graduate in May 2026. My academic focus and personal passion center on military history and civic leadership, and I enjoy helping students of all ages connect the past to the world they live in today.
My interest in military history goes beyond the classroom. As a museum intern at the Berman Museum, I work directly with historical artifactsresearching, cataloging, and leading educational programs that make history tangible and engaging. I'm also deeply involved with JSU's Army ROTC program, where I volunteer to support events, ceremonies, and community engagement efforts. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of military traditions and leadership, which I bring into my tutoring sessions to help students see history as more than just datesit's about real people, decisions, and consequences that shaped our world.
In addition to my historical work, I serve in Jacksonville State's Student Government Association, where I've held leadership roles including Clerk of the Senate and Community Ambassador on the Presidential Cabinet. In these positions, I've gained valuable experience in public speaking, policy discussion, and civic engagementskills that also enhance my ability to teach political science effectively.
As a tutor, my goal is to inspire curiosity, strengthen critical thinking, and build confidence. Whether it's preparing for an exam, developing stronger writing skills, or diving deeper into military and political topics, I strive to create a supportive and motivating environment for each student.
