I recently graduated with a Master's degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida and hold a B.S. in Neuroscience with a minor in Psychology from Western Washington University. During graduate school, I taught college biology courses and mentored undergraduate students who were applying to graduate school. It is meaningful to me to provide resources, support, and confidence to students so they can achieve their future goals.
I am particularly passionate about working with students who have diverse learning styles or needs that are not adequately supported in the traditional education system. As someone with ADHD, I understand how frustrating and isolating it can be to try to succeed in an environment that wasn't designed with you in mind. Education should not be one-size-fits-all. My goal is to empower each student by collaborating to create effective academic strategies that leverage their unique strengths.

I have always been interested in marine life. I am an avid scuba diver, snorkeler, beachcomber, and tide pooler. I research—and am very excited about—the evolution of octopus intelligence. I love animals of all kinds, especially the less appreciated "creepy crawlies." When I'm not outside looking under rocks or exploring the coast at low tide, I enjoy spending time with my pets and tending to my indoor jungle. I have a pet snake, two cats, and far too many houseplants.
