Certified Tutor
I earned my master's degree in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. Currently, I write literature study guides which offer students a deeper understanding of classic and contemporary works. I'm also the Senior Editor of Creative Nonfiction for a literary magazine, where I've taught my team how to evaluate writing quality, cultural relevance, depth of ideas, and overall effectiveness of submissions. Despite the way technological advances have changed the ways we communicate on a daily basis, I still believe strongly in students' need to develop effective writing and reading comprehension skills. They deserve robust resources and support that will help them to further their education, demonstrate professionalism in the workforce, and participate in meaningful social discourse. I tutor students in middle school, high school, and college, as well as any adults looking to develop their knowledge and skills, in a range of subjects including English / language arts, reading comprehension, literature, writing, test preparation, and college application essays. I aim to inspire, to support, and to model a passion for reading and writing as a means of making the world a better place. Students thrive in positive, encouraging environments where they're pushed to think critically and take intellectual risks. I embrace a collaborative approach based on mutual respect. I emphasize goal-setting and self-assessment; tools which will benefit learners in every aspect of life.

I read a lot in my spare time, and I can never get enough of the beach, music, comedy, and art. My favorite activities are taking my dogs on hikes and spending time with family.
