Amanda am a 21-year veteran teacher who has experience as an AP reader as well as an examiner for the IB. She will complete a master's degree in exceptional student education grades K-12 in June of 2024 from the University of Central Florida. She loves teaching students how to develop strong skills in the areas of written expression and critical thinking. She also is an expert at time management as she navigates her large family, work, school, and other life demands. She does not like teaching by rote memorization and feel like it is more fun to learn through story and interactive lessons. She also loves reading and think it is the key to academic success. She likes finding what method works best for each individual person, which is why she pursued exceptional student education. It is important to meet students where they are, and teach them to succeed in the way that is best for them.

Hobbies

Amanda likes to spend her spare time hanging out with her 4 kids and puppy. As Floridians, she and her family take advantage of as much outside time as they can! When it is raining or 1000 degrees outside, She loves a good historical drama, either by book or by tv. Some of her favorite shows are cooking competitions, home improvement, and game shows.
