Certified Tutor

I am a current college student completing my B.A. in Elementary Education and History/Social Sciences. I was born in Puerto Rico but I have traveled the world since I stepped foot in the United States. I had the chance to gain great experience traveling to different places, learning new languages, and understanding the education methods that are taught in each country. I have tutored children through the program JumpStart; a nonprofit organization that provides high-quality early learning programs for disadvantaged children across the US. Consecutively, I tutored Spanish to college students who were studying a foreign language as a requirement or students who were majoring in it. Even though language is the main subject I focused on, I am passionate about History, Basic Math, Art, and AP Literature. I enjoy preparing students for SAT and college admissions. I was a Peer Mentor for the introductory course "The Art of Everyday Life" mostly offered to freshmen students in college for two consecutive years, the position I held guided them to get accustomed to university life, and through it, I understood my love for teaching regardless the subject or the age group I was assigned it to.

In my experience, learning is different for each person. I have become familiarized with an ample diversity of teaching tools that could vary from the customary way schools instruct. I can make learning fun, trust your tutor!
