Certified Tutor

I am a nationally certified Physician Assistant (Associate) licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Caroline. I earned my Bachelor of Science and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska through the U.S. Military's Interservice Physician Assistant Program. My experience as an educator began in 2012 when I served as an after school teacher for THINK Together, a California non-profit that offers expanded education opportunities to students in at risk communities. As a Physician Assistant, I've helped educate young science students on topics such as biology, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology. My favorite topic to teach, however, is mathematics. The subject is fundamental to a successful career in the sciences and is often daunting for students. That's why I enjoy teaching it so much! Seeing complex math topics become tangible to students, helping them see the practical nature of numbers and formulas, and witnessing their minds expanding as they grapple with the material is deeply rewarding. I find that many shy away from the sciences because they are intimidated by the material. That's why as an educator, I believe the most important job I have is helping students realize that they truly are capable of grasping difficult concepts. I'm currently preparing to apply to medical school, so a lot of my spare time is spent studying for the MCAT. However, I do enjoy spending as much time as I can with my wife and four children!
