David
Certified Tutor
My educational philosophy holds that all students are highly educable and are capable of becoming constructive and valuable members of society. It is therefore my responsibility as a teacher to meet each student at the point of his/her capability and knowledge, and to nurture, encourage, and instruct him/her in order that the student may realize his/her full potential. Students have a variety of learning styles, and my instruction must be designed to engage a diverse group of learners. It is my obligation to keep abreast of evolving theories of learning, pedagogical practices, and developments in educational technology, while maintaining the core values of a humane and holistic education. It is imperative that a teacher first be an eager learner, and that he/she has a profound desire to share that enthusiasm for learning, as well a body of knowledge in his/her discipline, with each and every student.
It is the mission of a tutor to provide a bridge for his/her students to enhance their skills in the interest of vocational pursuits and/or for further higher education. Education must be seen as a lifelong pursuit that will enrich all aspects of our lives, and I wish to share that vision with my students.
