I am a graduate of Metropolitan State College in Denver, CO. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Education with English as my minor. I taught in the public schools for 30 years. I taught in Colorado, Wyoming, and Texas. I have a very diversified background in education. I have worked with mostly middle school age students. As a teacher, I love helping students who struggle with the content I am teaching and require different ways/methods to approach what they are learning. I also understand that there are many different ways to approach learning from singing jingles to learning pneumonic devices for study purposes. It is important to explore different ways to tackle the lesson at hand. English, Reading, and History/ Social Studies are my favorite subjects to teach. I truly believe that learning is a lifelong process that never ends. I started my Master's Degree in English and will be working on completing this as my kids are grown and gone. It is very satisfying for me to help students succeed in school!

I have a wide variety of interests and hobbies. I love traveling around the country and going to our national parks and enjoying the breathtaking scenery, when I can. I love gardening, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and working on a phone app I have to help problem solve. I love riding horses and working. As a teenager and middle to high school student, I loved playing tennis, basketball, running track, snow skiing, and even competed in small scale barrel racing, pole bending, and riding events. I enjoy watching documentaries of all types from historical events to Planet Earth as I love learning. I love spending time with my grandson and kids.
