I'm a true believer in self-inquiry learning. I prefer students to figure out and discover their learning capabilities while tackling a problem, answering a question, or simply learning a new concept. This really picks up their self-esteem and encourages teamwork. I like being a facilitator with minimal intervention(only if needed, I can give hints or examples). I have discovered, in my 15 years as a certified teacher, that this style is very effective for long-term learning and general skill-solving development. During the six years that I taught Business English in South Korea, I learned how to be a better listener and adapt to all kinds of students. My trips to China, Taiwan, and Japan really opened my eyes to new cultures which enriched my personal life and thus become a more compassionate and patient human being. Koreans are typically very shy so learning how to create a comfortable and tension-free learning environment was indeed my ticket to success and in turn, the real winners were the students. Hobbies

I enjoy analyzing English and Spanish Language differences(cognates, false cognates, phrasal verbs and idioms). Having grown up on both sides of the Texan-Mexican border(not to mention those long summers with my cousins in Monterrey, México) has given me the opportunity to know when and how to use certain Spanish phrases and/or words in different social and professional scenarios. I also love hiking, cooking, walking in nature, meditating, and reading self-help books.
