Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Concordia University where I received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC). I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on positive psychology. I am very passionate about this field, as well as education in working with and helping others to accomplish goals in their areas of interest. I worked for the school district for several years, and tutored many students of all ages, both in-district and out (elementary, adolescents and adults). It is here where I learned that the need to assist others on their educational journey was very rewarding. Given this, upon completion of my degree, I continue to work in my field of study of counseling, as well as assisting others to improve in their English learning through ESL courses. While I have tutored a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Psychology, English, Literature, and Grammar. I am a firm advocate of education and believe it to be absolutely necessary for one to obtain the best quality of life possible, which will be implemented throughout. My personal teaching philosophy includes an atmosphere where individuals feel safe and comfortable learning in. An atmosphere free of distractions with material robust enough to continually aid in learning, yet not too rigid to discourage against it. This will not only aid in learning, but also for retention and performance for overall growth purposes.
