I am a New York University student who just finished her first year of college. I am a sociology major on the pre-med track. I am passionate about helping students through tutoring because I was helped by being tutored. Tutoring really helped me reach my full potential in all my subjects and I owe so much to my tutors. I just want to impact someone the same way I was impacted. I have been a tutor with LearnToBe (a non-profit organization dedicated to students in underserved communities) for two years. I usually tutor mathematics but I have tutored english as well as science. Math is my favorite subject as I love how there is a logical process to every problem. Once it clicks, math is so fun to do and I want to help everyone understand that. My teaching philosophy is to positively assure my students. They work so hard and put in so much effort, so I try to show my appreciation for them as much as I can. I am always so proud of my students and I want them to know that it is incredible that they are trying their best. I like to be very personal with my students. While we will do all the work that needs to be done, I like getting to know them on a more personal level by asking them about their interests and hobbies so that they can feel more comfortable with me.

I have recently done a couple research projects and they are absolutely a fantastic time. I love learning about neuroscience, as that is one of my biggest passions. Outside of academia, I love to sing and dance. I love playing music, and plan to learn the guitar. I love nature walks with friends and family, talking until the sun sets. And one of my favorite things to do is watch movies and TV shows with my loved ones.
