Teaching has always been my passion since I was a child and I've spent each decade of my life successfully educating various groups of students that have been my pleasure to shine. My educational motto is "students are like bright diamonds covered and hidden through mud; waiting for their educators to take their turns wiping away the mud and polishing the diamonds to shine bright". While earning my Masters Degree in Urban Education, I learned one of the most crucial lessons in Education; if you really want to earn your students' undivided attention, you must first earn their undivided respect for what you have to teach. Besides starting off every lesson making sure I'm on the same "page" as my students, I make it my priority to always explain as thoroughly as possible, what practical benefits are, of learning the lesson that I'm teaching. If the students can connect the lessons with their interests, desires and motivations; the students will be fully ready, willing and able to learn and retain the information from the lessons on a consistent basis. I've spent most of my teaching career in the New York City Department of Education as a History and Math teacher, but I also have a lot of experience teaching Science and Theater Arts. I am looking forward to help the youth "shine bright like a diamond".
