I was lucky. My mother was an educator, and I received an excellent public school education through high school. When I entered college, I had earned enough credits (English, Biology, Calculus) to be a sophomore, technically. I used the openings that created to explore some unusual subjects: golf, martial arts, and living in Mexico for a semester. When I continued on to my MS, I had a graduate fellowship with the Political Science department. That gave me my first opportunity to teach, freshman American Government.
I am curious by nature. I see learning as an adventure. You never know where it might take you.

In no particular order: Reading, martial arts (judo, tae kwon do, hapkido, muy thai, BJJ), guitar, learning new languages (thanks Duolingo!), birdwatching, camping, hiking, travel, guitar, restoring fountain pens, woodworking. Environmental protection, renewable energy and sustainability are a fascination for me.
