I am a full-time student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Studying Forensic Science, with a concentration in molecular biology and criminalistics. I have always felt passionate about helping students because I still am one and I know how difficult it can be. It is important that each student gets the support system they need to pursue their goals which I can provide. I offer tutoring in subjects such as 5th-6th grade math, High School algebra 1-2, and High School seniors/rising college students on their college applications. However, my favorite subject to tutor is college applications. I definitely can vouch for how stressful college applications season can be. So, I am ready to be a creative, open-minded, and supportive outlet to those students. I have created some of my own techniques that can help students with brainstorming on essay topics and ultimately improve the fluency of their writing. The best teaching style for me is taking the role of a demonstrator and delegator. " find what makes sense to you" is the philosophy I abide by when teaching and doing my own studying. I intend to apply that to my students to grow their knowledge on subjects through activities or practice problems and provide feedback. This way students are able to understand material on their terms which benefits their comprehension habits. I would describe myself to be enthusiastic, encouraging, self aware and inspired. Fun fact, aside from school, I am also a professional dancer in multiple styles. I hope we can match, I look forward to meeting some of you.
