I am a graduate of Western Carolina University and Mars Hill College. I received my Masters Degree in Elementary Education with a focus in reading at Western Carolina University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Mars Hill College. While going to school full time, I worked at an elementary school tutoring kindergarten and first grade students who struggled with reading. After receiving my degree, I taught kindergarten for 5 years at a public school in North Carolina. The last two years I have worked as an independent contractor teaching English to students in China, via online. I have worked with a wide range of students from pre-k to teenagers. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about teaching students who may struggle in reading. I believe every person should be a life long learner. I believe it is my job as an educator to instill a love of learning with each of my students and help them achieve their greatest potential. When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking, swimming, traveling, and reading.
