Sandya: Tennessee tutor
Certified Tutor
I graduated from Lubbock High School with an IB degree. I earned my bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University.. After graduating, I became certified to teach high school math by the College of Education at Texas Tech. I then taught high school math - Algebra, Geometry, PreCalculus and Calculus for four years. I am currently certified to teach high school math (8-12) in the state of Texas. My favorite subjects to tutor are Algebra and Geometry. I volunteered as a peer tutor when I was in college and tutored students in PreCalculus and Introductory Calculus.
I know that math is a challenging subject, and may seem difficult to master. However, I believe that with the right guidance, it is possible for everyone to understand math and become successful at it.

I believe in the value of education and know that my education has helped me overcome many challenges in my life. That is why I spend my extra time volunteering as a writing instructor for an after school program. I noticed, as a teacher, that a lack of critical reading/writing skills prevented many students from being successful on standardized tests. That is why I believe that helping students with reading and writing, in addition to math, promotes students success. In my spare time, I like to read library books and blog about my experiences as a teacher: https://mathisrational.blogspot.com
