I have been an educator for more than twenty years. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History and a minor in Secondary Education from Cleveland State University (CSU). I also earned a Master of Arts degree in History at CSU. My specialty areas are American/African American History and Women's Studies. However, I also teach U.S. Government (political science) World History, and a course called Street Law which is specific to high school. I believe student academic success is grounded in the philosophy that asserts students have the intellectual tools within them necessary for achievement, and it is the responsibility of the educator to be the catalyst that draws out success. I enjoy teaching students at the high school and college levels. I find that I have been successful in inspiring them to believe in themselves and their ability to achieve whatever they set their minds to. Therefore, when I tutor these students we begin from where they see their strengths and I encourage them to keep their focus on the belief that success can be achieved by connecting their innate strengths to any tasks they are faced with.
