Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of The University of Tennessee. I received both a Bachelor of Arts in English (with a focus in creative writing) and in Philosophy. Since graduation, I have had the opportunity to edit documents for a nonprofit and to do some freelance writing on the side. During my time in college, I had the opportunity to lead students through set curriculum in summer camp settings for multiple summers, and I was a writing tutor of college students for two years. While I tutor a range of subjects, I am most passionate towards Creative Writing and literature related studies. In my experience with helping others progress in their writing, I have found that the best way to help students is to provide them techniques to further edit and proof their writing on their own, while also assisting them in becoming more comfortable when sharing their work with peers. I believe that with effort, training, and a little bit of imagination, any student can learn to be a highly proficient writer, both academically and creatively. In my spare time, I enjoy working on my own poetry collection, reading, rock climbing, hiking, and eating macaroni and cheese!
