Regina
Certified Tutor
Besides my passion in education, I am also a bilingual documentarian, researcher, and multimedia artist.
I'm originally from Mexico City, and I grew up in Nevada. In 2020 I graduated from Long Island University's Global College with a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies. In this program, I was fortunate to study in more than 15 countries. Studying across five continents allowed me to broaden my cultural understanding and witness first-hand, the impact a tutor can have on a person's educational development. Harnessing this perspective, I tutored underserved students with Global Kids, a youth organization in New York City, and I developed curriculum for art workshops collaborating with asylum seeking youth in Costa Rica with Cenderos, a non-profit organization focusing on migrant rights.
In addition, I received a 120-hour TEFL TESOL training certificate through ITTT in 2020 for teaching English as a second language, and a certificate for Documentary Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy in 2019. This year I have taken courses to teach art education to 012-year-olds in Spanish, through the International Montessori Institute in Barcelona.
My studies and experiences across five continents were some of the most inspiring in my life, and more importantly, in every country I went to, the passion for learning that all people carry naturally was made increasingly clear. I would love to spark that passion that we all know you have and help you channel it towards something that will positively impact your future.
The subjects that I tutor are Spanish, English, and specifically English as a second language or ESL. I possess strong written and oral skills in English and Spanish. I will provide a new-age and energetic environment that will hopefully get you excited for your future opportunities.
