Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Sul Ross State University and St. Mary's University where I received my degree in School Administration and Interdisciplinary English Language Arts and Reading respectively. I have been in education for over 15 years and have taught and tutored English Language Arts and Reading for students in grades 3-8. I have many years experience working with students who have disabilities, are learning the English language or struggle in reading comprehension. I am a certified teacher for English (Reading and Writing) and I am also certified in supporting English Language Learners. I also speak Spanish fluently por si acaso necesitan ayuda con eso! :) I also hold my Principal certification and hope to one day support a full campus of learners. I have experience as a High School Academic Counselor, Reading Interventionist, Instructional Coach and an Assistant Principal. Working all these roles has helped me see different parts of education and how all children are wonderful to work with. While I focus primarily on students in grades 3-8, I would gladly support students below or above these needs.
My teaching style is one of patience, warmth, positive reinforcement and high expectations. I hold all my students and myself to a high standard. I motivate students with a love of learning, by rewarding curiosity, and by measuring growth over time. Students would say that time goes quickly when they are learning from me. My goal is to build a positive, safe relationship with students first then the learning begins. Looking forward to working with your child!

I enjoy baseball, reading and writing. I love to be creative and I also enjoy learning how to use new technology. I like to travel and like to go camping. I also like to be with my cat and my dog on my spare time.
