I have spent many years in colleges and universities learning and teaching. I was made for helping other people learn and master new skills. My first loves are language (English, Spanish, Arabic) and music. For my junior year abroad I studied classical guitar and Spanish/Latin American history and literature in Seville, Spain. Stateside, I participated as a performing student in master classes with Christopher Parkening, David Russell, and David Tanenbaum. I graduated with degrees in History and Music, and after that, helped develop instructional software and taught music at the college level (popular and classical guitar and basic music theory) . In the most recent phase of my career, I earned a Master's Degree in Linguistics and have been teaching English as a Second Language and basic linguistics at the university level. Along the way, I have worked with U.S. immigrants (children to adults) as well as international students from many countries and of all levels ranging from pre-college to PhD, and focusing on a wide range of skills: grammar, vocabulary development, academic writing, and pronunciation. In my personal and family life, I enjoy gardening, music, mountain biking, and skiing. I am eager to work with you to help you reach the next level!
