Certified Tutor

I have been in education for 7 years now, and have experience with all age groups. I have worked EXTENSIVELY in middle school, with male students specifically in small group and reading enrichment/IEP settings, working as an English Interventionist. While most small groups of students I received were 5th-8th grade males, I also have experience with young ladies writing and reading groups and one-on-one tutoring, as well as extra time facilitation on tests. I have just recently become certified to teach ESL/EFL with the International TEFL Academy, and I love being a teacher. My topics of instruction have always been English, Arts and ESL. I write children's books and poetry, and am a visual artist/performance artist.

I believe in informality where it intersects with mutual respect and a willingness to try your best. I'm here to help and here to encourage strength in my students grades just as much as I want them to look forward to that future I'm helping them secure! I have always gotten a lot out of working in small settings like this because it's the perfect place for a student in need of that extra tutoring support to have privacy and my full attention, which fosters so much enthusiasm even at the end of a more challenging session.
