I am a graduate of the University of Miami where I received a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology/Immunology and Public Health, where I was on the pre-med track. Since completing my bachelors degree, I have recently completed my Masters in Physiology from Georgetown University. Aside from my academics, I am incredibly passionate about serving underprivileged communities and working with health equity. At the University of Miami, I created a health education program for K-12 students and worked avidly in leadership and service roles in the community. From my experience teaching health education in schools and local youth centers, I have learned to make learning adaptable to the needs of different students and age ranges. Often times, many students struggle, especially in the new online learning environment, due to lack of hands on learning and they need to visualize the concepts in terms that they encounter in their daily lives. Having most recently worked with younger children, I am able to adapt to particularly English, Mathematics, and Science needs of a wide age group. Additionally, I have taken the ACT, SAT, PSAT, was a National Merit Commended Scholar and graduated in the top 10% of my high school class, as well as have taken the MCAT. Through my additional science and public health coursework, I have gained expertise in writing in a variety of settings and completed my public health thesis. Additionally, one of my greatest skills is in helping students with professional development work, particularly in medical school and graduate school essays. I enjoy working with students to improve their writing by asking questions, improving grammar, and helping them chart out their ideas to really get to the next level with their essays! I look forward to working with students to help them in their academic and professional careers!
