I have been working in special education field for over 15 years. I have taught diverse groups of students with ADD/ADHD, autism, Asperger's Syndrome, learning disabilities, speech impairments, and non-compliant behavior. My skills in differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and multi-sensory lesson planning allow me to meet the needs of every client.
My years of experience have taught me the value of patience and encouragement in the special education environment.
I would like to explain why there was some serious gaps in my employment in the last few years- my father was in hospice and I did take a lot of time off to take care of him, he passed away this year so that was done, but right after I left Cuyahoga Community College I did stay with him and he was out of town. I'm not sad that I put this time to dedicate to him because he was an Education Administrator and he was a big part of why I entered the field of Education.

"My philosophy of education is that all students are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.
"I believe that there are five essential elements that are conducive to learning. (1) The teacher's role is to act as a guide. (2) Students must have access to hands-on activities. (3) Students should be able to have choices and let their curiosity direct their learning. (4) Students need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment. (5) Technology must be incorporated and explained how to effectively use throughout the learning day."
