As a dual MD/MPH student at University of Miami pursuing a residency in psychiatry next year, engagement with people and the community energize me. I graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Spanish Literature and minors in theater arts and chemistry as well as a certificate in Latin American studies. I have done extensive personal statement writing and editing for students applying to college, medical school, PA school, medical residency as well as fellowships and scholarships. My students have been accepted into programs at Harvard, University of Chicago, University of Pittsburgh, Swarthmore, Emory and more. I have done tutoring both formally (eg as a physics TA in college) and informally (eg helping middle school students with math homework at a center where I volunteered). I seek to utilize my broad expertise in areas like English, Spanish, writing, math, science, standardized test taking, and organizational skills to help students achieve their goals. My background in mental health and extensive volunteer work make me uniquely qualified to handle the dynamics of frustrated learners and students from diverse backgrounds. I want to empower my students with the zest for growth and discovery that has kept me a life-long learner.
