I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

"And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." - Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

I am an undergrad graduate from College of Arts and Sciences at New York University. I majored in Mathematics and minored in Web Programming and Applications. At the age of 15, I started to help at my father's church by working as a Sunday School Teacher. Through that experience, I learned that I have great patience when teaching, and that I enjoy making enjoyable and interactive lessons for my students. Throughout next 7 years, I expanded what I started out as just Bible lessons to middle school and high school math lessons and Korean lessons as well. Wanting to further build upon my talents, I participated in STARS Tutoring program in high school, where I thought AP Calculus and AP Micro and Macro Econ to students of my age. Last summer, I also had the privilege of working with Let's Get Ready, a program at Temple University designed to prepare students from low-income households for SAT testing and college applications. As a College Access Coach, I taught SAT math to a group of 10 students and aided them to improve their score by an average of 20%. By teaching passionately, I want to show students that learning is not limited by their background or intelligence but is rather expanded through inquisitive mind and inspiration.

In my free time I enjoy programming simple games using Python, and unleashing my creativity through drawings. Whenever I have the time, I love to give back to my community by taking care of children at the church and working as one of the puppeteers for Vacation Bible School. Working with kids and students of all ages and backgrounds has been an amazing experience so far, and I plan to continue doing so for a long time.

Every day, I aspire to be a better, if not the best, version of myself that I can be by asking one question to myself: "How will I write my history today?"
