Certified Tutor

As a current medical student in the top 10% of her class attending Kansas City University, I believe I understand how to study effectively and efficiently. There have been many times where I had to change the way I studied to help me better understand the material, and I believe I can incorporate this ability into teaching student various ways of learning a difficult topic. I have also gotten the opportunity to teach medical student as an Anatomy tutor which has given me experience in handling a large volume of information and condensing it into smaller bits.

In my years at Westmont College, I have been able to teach and tutor as a teaching assistant for 4 years. I mainly taught General chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Math, and Biology, as I double majored in Biochemistry and Cellular Molecular Biology. I have quite a bit of experience teaching students about the multifaceted world of chemistry and would love to do so again.

I feel I have the skills necessary for this position. I am able to successfully communicate complicated topics in a way that students understand, as shown through my success as a TA in raising student's grades. I have the knowledge necessary to teach the subjects at hand, as indicated by my majors. And I have a lot of practice working with children, as demonstrated through my many years of teaching. I am genuinely interested in this position because I am confident my skills and hands-on experience match the demands for this position and believe it will help me develop necessary skills for my future in the medical field.

I am looking to interact with many people and help them through difficult times in their education. The feeling of the unknown is extremely frustrating, but it's less painful when you have a mentor to guide you. I would love to be a mentor to students who feel this way towards subjects in my field. I will work diligently help the students in any way I can, if given the chance.

Thank you for your time. I am available to answer any questions through email, phone, or interview.
