Hi there! My name is Jen and I have taught 5th grade and am currently subbing and tutoring. I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Education in May of 2018. While there, I was in one year of practicum and one year of student teaching in a second and fourth grade class located within the greater Tacoma area. I enjoy educating because it allows me to build a relationship; providing guidance and support on one's academic journey. Although academics is very important, I advocate and teach to the "whole individual", meaning I don't only focus on core academics, but also organization skills, social behaviors, and helping one navigate and understand the complexities of life. Some students need a strong bond, or a champion, to motivate them to succeed. I have worked with children ever since I could work from being a Special Olympics Coach to giving tours at the Woodland Park Zoo! I have taught in a multitude of capacities, having met and worked with people of different ages and capabilities. I am here for you and your child, to give them the drive and support to thrive!
