Certified Tutor

I am a Stony Brook University graduate preparing to attend optometry school in the fall of 2022. For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for learning. By middle school, I discovered that passion extended to helping others learn as well. I began tutoring friends in Spanish, algebra, and earth science, finding fun ways to keep them engaged with the material.

I continued tutoring my peers throughout high school and college in a variety of subjects. I am confident I can pique students' interest in courses traditionally considered irksome by bringing the subject matter to life.

English is one of my favorite subjects to tutor. Enhancing critical reading and writing skills helps students to succeed in many academic areas, as well as further on in their professional lives.

The most rewarding aspect of being a tutor is watching students gain confidence in themselves as they start to see their hard work pay off. My style incorporates organization and goal-setting in a fun, supportive environment.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my dog, reading Harry Potter and traveling the globe. I have been to 12 countries so far and lived in New Zealand for three months after graduating from school. It was awesome!
