I am a writer and former college professor with more than 15 years of teaching experience in higher education. I have a Ph.D. in American Studies from Saint Louis University, an M.A. in English from the University of Saint Thomas, and a B.A. in English from the University of North Dakota. I've taught at the University of Maine, University of Notre Dame, and Case Western Reserve University.
I am an energetic and enthusiastic instructor and tutor, who is comfortable and qualified to help students in a wide-range of subject areas. My teaching philosophy always places the student first, and I work hard to get to know all students as individuals.
I am currently a freelance writer whose essays, criticism, and creative nonfiction have appeared in the Washington Post, Longreads, Popula, and Harvard's Nieman Storyboard.
