Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of California Polytechnic State University with a double major in Aerospace Engineering and Philosophy as well as two minors. I am currently in the process of searching for a position to start my engineering career and have decided in the meantime to use the skills and knowledge I have learned to tutor students who could benefit from the help of someone who has recently been through the very kinds of classes they are seeking help in. Having just finished an engineering degree, I am very familiar with a wide variety of math, science, and engineering topics and I am excited to share my knowledge with students who are still in the process of learning the same subjects that I have had to master to earn my degrees. I also enjoy discussing philosophy of all kinds and am happy to tutor students in that subject as well. When I tutor, I like to draw on the methods I have learned from studying philosophy of clarifying and communicating ideas in an understandable way by showing how each concept follows from a previous concept, because it is much easier to learn something new when the explanation is rooted in something on which we already have a firm grasp. In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing music, and building things in my garage.
