Certified Tutor

As an honors student at a small liberal arts college, I am an avid lover of learning how to think and am passionate about spreading this skill in a world that strongly emphasizes teaching to succeed on tests, sometimes at the risk of forgetting to train students how to reason and learn. My teaching philosophy is centered on this idea; my students will be encouraged to find areas of the subject they are passionate about and will be taught how to teach themselves as well as to look critically at their own work. My favorite subject to tutor is writing because it is a fundamental skill that many of us struggle to master!
