Certified Tutor
I earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Tufts University. I worked as Senior Legislative Aide for a State Assemblyman in my native home of New Jersey. After beginning graduate studies in Theology at Seton Hall, I discovered a passion and talent for teaching, which I put to use as a volunteer religion teacher and as a full-time academic mentor for a local tutoring company. For more than five years, I have worked with hundreds of students to prepare for all sections of the SAT and ACT, as well as improve in their high school Math and Humanities courses. I have written and edited test questions and preparation materials for a college admissions test, and I am currently the Algebra 1 teacher at a private school.
I believe there is no substitute for (and no way to fake) that spontaneous "ohhh, I get it!!" response when a student truly grasps a concept, and I am committed to helping every student reach that euphoric moment of discovery. My teaching style tends toward the Socratic, in that I prefer to ask the right questions that will lead you to the answer yourself.
I have explained every question in the College Board and ACT official prep guides multiple times over, so if you want an experienced mentor for test prep, let's get to work!
