I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

My name is Neil and I currently attend the CUNY School of Medicine. I have been a straight A student all my life so I am sure I will be able to aid your child in achieving his/ her own academic success. I graduated from Stuyvesant High School with an overall 95/100 grade average. I received the Advanced Placement Scholar Award for achieving the maximum score on five AP exams. Furthermore, I have received high scores on all the standardized college admission tests I have taken (SAT, ACT and SAT subject tests).

I also have a good amount of experience in tutoring. I have volunteered with the Reading Partners Program to help grade schoolers develop their reading skills. I am currently a part of the Switch it UP Break it Down program in which college students volunteer to teach grade schoolers in the Harlem area about healthy eating. Moreover, I have been privately tutoring middle schoolers in math, science and essay writing for about two years. Lastly, I have tutored college students in general chemistry for one school semester.

Since I am a student myself, I understand that the way some material is taught in the classroom may not be effective for all students so I adjust my teaching methods accordingly to child's learning style. I also understand that learning difficult material can be frustrating so I will do my best to create a calm, comfortable and encouraging environment for your child. I am easily reachable, happy to have discussions with you about your child's progress and willing to set times and locations for sessions that are convenient for you.

I look forward to helping your child succeed.

Sincerely,

Neil
