Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of New York University, where I received a Bachelor's in Individualized Study. This program, often colloquially referred to as a "build your own major," allowed me to pursue an interdisciplinary concentration in English literature, Spanish literary translation, and Gender Studies. I've studied in Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil, and I'm currently becoming certified in TEFL/TESL (Teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language). I also work part-time as the Assistant Editor of a print literary journal attached to a non-profit writers organization. I look forward to tutoring in any language-related capacity, whether it's in reading/writing test prep, perfecting that killer college essay, or working toward a higher proficiency in Spanish. My enthusiasm for the written and spoken word inspires pupils to discover that reading and writing are art forms available to everyone, and my teaching philosophy is based on the old adage: "I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand." In helping my tutees do, they'll come to understand.
