Certified Tutor
I graduated cum laude from Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH before matriculating to Brown University. While at Brown, I was a Political Science and Economics double major while rowing on the Div I NCAA Championship winning Brown women's rowing team. I was accepted to Pi Sigma Alpha, the national Political Science Honor's Society, prior to graduation. Shortly thereafter, I enrolled in the Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program at Columbia University. After two years of classes and research in pediatric oncology, I was accepted to the NYU School of Medicine. Currently, I am working towards my MD degree and will be starting residency training in orthopedic surgery at New York Presbyterian Columbia this summer.
I love to teach because I enjoy helping students turn their perceived weaknesses into strengths. I also love to teach because I enjoy helping students identify the learning tools that work best for them so we can maximize the efficiency of our tutoring sessions. I teach a variety of subjects within math, science and the humanities, and I enjoy working with students of all ages. Additionally, I also enjoy helping students navigate the challenges of college, graduate school and residency applications.
I have served as a tutor and teacher in a wide array of subjects for about 10 years in both formal and informal capacities. While in undergrad, I individually tutored teammates on my rowing team and other Brown students in Economics and Math. More recently, as a medical student, I have tutored high school students interested in science as a part of my work with in Mini-Meds, and have taught first and second year medical students about physiology, pathology and medicine at the NYC Free Clinic. I also regularly assist medical students and undergraduates students in writing their application essays for graduate school and residency.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy running, cooking, ballet, yoga, and boxing.
