Leo: North Richland Hills tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm a junior at the University of Pittsburgh studying math and finance, with a minor in economics. I started volunteering as a tutor in 10th grade at a local foster home, and I began working as a paid tutor the following year, helping middle and high school students with math, English, history, chemistry and Spanish.
I enjoy tutoring because I get to pay forward all the great help and support I've received from teachers over the years. I'm always trying to learn new things, and I try to show my students that learning (under the write circumstances) can be fun. I make sure I'm not just giving them answers, but giving them the skills and knowledge they need to figure problems out on their own. My favorite subject to tutor is math because I know that it is the least favorite subject for so many students.
In my free time, I write for a satirical newspaper here at Pitt, and I love reading, playing basketball, and watching Netflix (especially comedies and documentaries).
