I am a professional writer with a master's degree from Columbia University and a BA in English (minor in Women's Studies) from Binghamton University (SUNY). My tutoring experience includes working with high school students on English, test prep and college application writing, elementary school students in screen writing, and adult literacy learners in a New York City street-to-home program. I have a profound love of literature and try to share the joy it brings me with my students.

Though I don't necessarily believe standardized testing is the best measure of potential, I do think of it as a rigorous academic exercise worth striving to ace. Working with adults on reading and writing skills proved to me that with enough encouragement and guidance, anyone can improve their language skills, at any age.

I have over ten years experience as a professional writer, including grant writing, copywriting, ghost writing, et al. I love to help students with the fundamentals of the language, getting closer to seeing the magic I find in the written word.
