Certified Tutor

My motivation is based on helping others learn while I learn myself and I believe that we are all constantly working together in a quest for knowledge. I love learning from students!
I grew up in Appomattox, Virginia, went to college at the University of Lynchburg (formerly Lynchburg College).
I currently live in Richmond, Virginia.
I majored in Biomedical Science and am very familiar with microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, chemistry, and everything associated with science!
I was also a writing center tutor for two years and I love working out issues with papers and helping students portray their thoughts into words and into a paper. In this way I am very comfortable working with essays and papers of all types and I love brainstorming and pre-writing as well. In fact, I think all parts of the writing process are important! As a writing center tutor I helped college and high school students in all subjects from literature to chemistry and I was always excited to discover new topics.
For five years I worked as a barista, bookkeeper, and baker at a local independent coffee shop. From this job I found out how much I love reading and literature and sharing my interests with others!
I love baking, cooking, reading novels, long-boarding, hiking, visiting historical sites, and playing with my cats and dogs!
