I'm a University of Florida graduate in Classical Studies. My background essentially focused on the ancient history of Mediterranean Civilization, but in my free time I did a lot of reading in other areas of history, mostly European and American, and took a few English classes. I'd consider myself a proficient writer, with an affinity for everything from the structure of a paper down to individual word choice. I can also ramble on for ages about trivial history and their effects on modernity as we know it. I am aspiring to a be a social studies teacher, as I find the source material to be incredibly relevant, although in a less obvious sense than STEM fields which I was too dumb to penetrate. My teaching philosophy is one of being able to bridge the content of the subject to the student's life, they can understand why they're learning and how to think less than what to think and merely route memorization.

Outside of writing personal statements about myself, I spend my time at my day job, in my dojo, the gym, and carousing with a pack of hooligans that I made the mistake of befriending in college.
