Teaching is not a "one size fits all" profession. To be a successful teacher/tutor, you must understand the different learning styles and tailor your teaching style to the unique needs of each student. Every student brings their own strengths and challenges, so you need to maintain flexibility and consistency in teaching when determining what resonates with her/him.
I graduated with my MSEd degree in 2014 at University of the Southwest in New Mexico. I earned my BS degree in Psychology (focus on childhood development and education) and my BS degree in Community Health Studies at Portland State University in Oregon. I have several years' experience working with children and adolescents in various school and community settings. I've worked as a Title One Reading Instructor and have also worked with children in assessing their reading skills such as sentence structure, comprehension, and phonics. I enjoy supporting a young person in developing and maintaining their appreciation and enjoyment of reading.
I love to dance, hike, and ride my bicycle. I enjoy spending time with my family and I really love Disneyland!
